Privacy Policy

This policy explains the information Nestly's beta uses to help adults discover compatible roommates, communicate, and organize a shared home search.

Effective October 22, 2026 · Beta version

Information we collect

  • Account information: your email address, email-verification status, account identifiers, and age attestation.
  • Private profile information: your surname and date of birth. We use date of birth to confirm age eligibility and calculate the age shown to other members; we do not publish your full birth date.
  • Member-visible profile information: first name, age, occupation, avatar, housing journey, target city and state, preferred neighborhoods, budget, move-in timing, housing preferences, lifestyle answers, and interests.
  • Relationship activity: Likes, Passes, matches, blocks, and the lifecycle state needed to keep those relationships consistent.
  • Messages and collaboration: direct messages, House Hunt membership and invitations, shared criteria, member budget contributions, criteria reviews, shared notes, Place reactions, and external listing links and facts supplied by members.
  • Safety information: reports, report details, and block activity. Reports are private and are not shown to the reported member.
  • Technical information: limited request, session, security, and diagnostic information produced by our hosting, authentication, database, and application infrastructure.

How we use information

We use information to operate accounts, verify email, enforce the 18+ requirement, provide deterministic compatibility and Discovery, create matches and conversations, support House Hunts and Places, prevent abuse, investigate reports, secure the service, diagnose failures, and improve the beta. Nestly does not use AI screening for compatibility.

Who can see what

Authenticated eligible members may see the member-visible profile fields needed for roommate discovery. Exact residential addresses are not collected for public profiles. Other members do not receive your email address, surname, full date of birth, internal account identifiers, safety reports, another member's individual Place reaction, or another member's House Hunt budget contribution. Messages are available only to conversation participants. House Hunt data is limited by membership and invitation state.

Service providers

Nestly relies on providers for application hosting, authentication, database, private file storage, email delivery, and related infrastructure. They process information to provide those services under their applicable agreements and security controls. Nestly does not currently provide payments, background checks, identity verification, landlord verification, rental-provider integrations, or location tracking.

Retention and deletion

We retain information while needed to provide and secure the beta and as reasonably necessary for safety, dispute, integrity, and legal purposes. Retention can differ by data type; for example, safety evidence or relationship history may need separate review. During beta, account and data deletion requests are handled manually through Support. We may need to confirm account ownership before acting. Nestly does not currently offer self-service deletion and does not promise a fixed completion period.

Security and limitations

We use access controls and other safeguards intended to limit information to authorized people. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Email verification confirms control of an email address; it is not identity verification. Compatibility is decision support and is not a safety guarantee.

Age requirement

Nestly is only for people age 18 or older. The beta is not directed to children.

Policy updates

We may update this policy as the beta changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when a change materially affects how information is handled.
